Outlook Web Access is Unable to Open Attachments.

One of my projects for a while, has been to start utilizing the Sharepoint services more effectively. After a month or so of demos and test groups, we are starting to use it with our staff in small groups.

One of the key things I wanted to do was enable the out-of-office staff to have the same experience or as near as possible, with the Sharepoint service, without opening up my Sharepoint to the world.

My first step yesterday was to integrate with Outlook Web Access, so that it is possible to start accessing the document librarys.

Setup instructions can be found on the web, over at MSExchange.Org;
Drilldown of the new OWA Direct File Access Feature in Exchange Server 2007: Part 1 (Server-side)
Drilldown of the new OWA Direct File Access Feature in Exchange Server 2007: Part 2 (Client-side).

While doing this, I turned off direct file access under the Public Computer tab. This had the unintended side affect that anyone logging onto the webmail, without checking the 'private computer' radio button would be unable to open any attachments in the mail box. oops.
