Today I wanted to get my laptop back up and running. My initial problem was a disk failure, and I opted to replace the disk (good idea huh?). This was the second disk I had put into this unit so i figure 'third time's a charm'.
Anyway, I replaced the disk as normal. However when attempting to install Windows 7 onto the disk, the following error message greeted me:
windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware
A little research showed some other people with similar issues.
For me, the fix was to enter the BIOS and change the Hard Disk settings. It was set to use RAID. I changed it to ATA. There are other options but this was the one that worked first time for me.
